Well, we finally know what happened to gifted and talented kids, gifted and talented kids, doesn't look good. And it really doesn't look good. Researchers from John Hopkins started studying gifted children in the 1940s, and it was recently published on. Now, before we start, there are a few things you need to know because there is this idea that gifted kids simply that they end up with higher rates of anxiety and depression. That may be true, but the research is psychology is a very difficult area to study because you have to make sure that the right sample size. You will find research that says that people who have high IQs are more likely to end up depressed than people with average IQs. You'll also find studies like this one that says that they have higher rates of anxiety. This is a very complicated area, and you're simply not going to find a very good answer. 4.1% had earned tenure at a major research university. 2.3% had become senior executives at major or Fortune 500 companies. 2.4% were attorneys at major firms or organizations. A significant percentage of them were rather successful. 4% ended up researchers at a major university, 2% became senior executives at a major or Fortune 500 company, and roughly 2.4% of them turned into lawyers. Those are just the ones that they are considering successful because they are working for major organizations. But the vast majority of them did not end up in these positions. And yes, these numbers are significantly higher than the average population. So at least there was some success, but what about everyone else? That doesn't say anything about their mental health status, how they're doing, or if they carry lifelong anxiety from their experiences in childhood. You may ask, because I asked, how is AI playing into this? Is it leveling the playing field? And no, no, it is not. It's making things worse for some groups of people and for people who are already rather effective. They're getting better at it, but there are serious problems. We have seen a lot of research about how bad AI is for creativity. Even if you use it to generate creative content, you end up less creative. Yeah. Less creative. Yeah. I hope you enjoyed this.
