Gen Z is actually aging faster than previous generations. We hear it all the time, younger people look older, and there's a lot of things that people say as to why, but biologically they are aging faster and researchers are trying to figure out why. For a long time, people have been living longer, healthier lives, and that is probably because of things like antibiotics and treatments for health conditions. However, those health conditions are popping up earlier in life. When we're talking about the biological markers for age, including things like blood pressure, blood chemistry, yes, younger generations are getting things that usually you would expect to see with an older population, and that includes cancer. We are talking about long-term studies from multiple countries that have shown progressive changes. So starting in the 1950s, 60s, and 70s, people started aging faster and it got a lot faster in the nineties. The one big change that we could point to is technology. This is why insomnia is thought to be a huge factor. And of course, it could also be stress. It is, you know, 2:00 a.m. when I'm posting this, and I should probably be sleeping, but instead I'm making content. However, we also have a generation that is online and they are trying to look older, and that does play into it. So things like a chiseled jaw, losing weight, getting medical surgeries, incidentally end up making you look older because you're going for a more mature look, things like buccal fat removal does make you look older most of the time. If you had that kind of jawline, you would have to be very thin or be born with it. But now we live in a society where you can recreate it. Also, studio makeup might look good in the right lighting, maybe in front of a camera, but it looks weird outside. I don't do anything special with my makeup. I cannot do makeup, so just enjoy.
