Redoing my kitchen now. I just know basic is boring, doesn't live in my vocabulary. We demoed the kitchen now and now it's time to choose the stone. Reminder that I'm doing a scalloped backsplash and an integrated sink on one side, similar to what I have in my bathroom. Then on the other side, doing open shelving to. I went to New York Stone and had to come back twice because they have a massive selection. The interior gods must have favored me one day because about 10 minutes before I was supposed to leave, a new slab was brought in with maroons, blushes and blues. It was like meeting your crush for the first time. I knew that it was the one. I went to the workshop to see the stone being cut. So much. Popcorn ceiling was blown by. We extended my current flooring into the kitchen. Then you can't have renovation without a mistake. And I totally forgot to incorporate utensil drawers into the design. How? Because of how crazy busy I've been with work, which was a very costly error. We also knocked out a little area for cutting board. Which I also should have thought of beforehand. And I built out a little coffee bar over here. Made the countertop to increase space. We would have. And Mitch and I still wanted to add extra storage. So we built this little cover using some cabinets from IKEA. This is what the kitchen looks like now. So stay tuned for part three.
