Hook
You guys want me to teach you how to make this cross stitch family photo mat? It's actually a lot easier than it looks. You'll need a mat and then your printed photos. I like to get mine at Walgreens because they're like $2 a photo. And then you're going to tape your photo down really well to your mat with masking tape. And then you're going to take grid paper and you're literally just drawing kind of the rough shape of a flower. I promise it's a lot easier than it looks. You're going to use that as your template. You can't tape it or it'll ruin your mat. And then you'll need this tool called an awl. A-W-L. It's very sharp, so be careful. But then you're going to just take it and start punching holes in each corner of your template. If there's two corners touching each other, you only need one hole. Then you'll take three strands of embroidery floss and thread it through a needle. Double knot it at the end. Make sure to start by coming up through the back of your project. And then you'll need to save your template to reference because it can get a little bit confusing without it. Want to make sure when you're punching your holes with your awl that they're big enough because some of the stitches will be going through the same hole two to three times. That's pretty much it. You're just going to take masking tape at the end and tape down all your loose strands. And then you have a cross-stitched photo mat. It's literally one of my favorite pieces in my house. Let me know if you want a tutorial on the frame that was also so easy and cheap. Love you guys.
