Choose the AP exam(s) you want to self-study. 2. Ask your school first. Even if they don't offer the class, they may let you take the exam as an exam-only student. 3. If they can't, contact nearby high schools. Ask the AP Coordinator if they accept outside students for the exam. 4. Reach out to multiple schools at once. Many schools don't accept outside testers, so don't wait for one response before emailing others. 5. Once a school says yes, register quickly.
