To celebrate The Odyssey

To celebrate The Odyssey being released today. Here are 5 behind the scenes facts that might surprise you. Let's get cracking! The Trojan horse wasn't CGI. The production actually built it for real. It stood at 35ft and people fit inside it. I saw it at the world premiere and trust me, it was absolutely enormous. Number 2 The Odyssey is the first feature film ever shot entirely on IMAX film cameras. From a post perspective, how are they able to do this? Because IMAX cameras are traditionally super loud to shoot on. How loud they are! *Nope (2022) For dialogue scenes it would be kind of impossible. So Christopher Nolan worked together with IMAX to create a quieter, a giant soundproof housing called a 'blimp.' It was so big it blocked from seeing each other when they were filming. So the crew used a mirror system to help them maintain contact while shooting. Number 3 To bring the Cyclops to life Christopher Nolan used a massive 60-foot puppet, combined with CGI to make the encounter feel as real and terrifying as possible. I will say the Cyclops scene is definitely my favourite scene. Number 4 To film the scenes in Ithaca, the cast and crew had to hike up a mountain every single day to reach set. The walk took around 45 minutes, helicopters were used to transport kit and people who couldn't do the walk. But apparently, Tom Holland was flying past Christopher Nolan every morning on that hike. I'm surprised he didn't do the Spider-Man method. Number 5 Christopher Nolan talked composer Ludwig Göransson not to use a traditional orchestra because he wanted the score to reflect the sounds of Ancient Greece. Instead he created the score using a lyre-like instrument, bronze gongs and synthesisers. Giving the film a completely unique sound. I will say the soundtrack in this is...
