Hey there. Since I'm pretty new on BookTok, I thought I'd do a very quick introduction to myself and also share just five of my favorite books. So let's get into it. First things first, my name is Braden Butter. I live in Colorado. Um, I'm 33 years old. I have two kids, an eight year old and a six year old. Been married for just over 11 years. Um, I enjoy ultra running. This week I just ran 100 miles. I love to do 100 mile races, marathons, and just get outside and enjoy it. Um, I also like reading, of course, in my spare time. I have for several years. Although sometimes I fall ill to the occasional book slump. Um, and I like all different genres of books, some more than others. And again, here are just five of my favourites. A Visit from the Goon Squad by Jennifer Egan. I love Jennifer Egan. I've read several of her books, and I think they're all pretty great. Except for Manhattan Beach. I don't like that one. East of Eden by John Steinbeck. I've also read Grapes of Wrath, Winner of Discontent, Of Mice and Men, and I absolutely adore this book. Like so many of you, we're in good company together, I think. The Heart's Invisible Furies by John Boyne. John Boyne has become one of my favorite authors over the last year, and this book is so special to me. I absolutely love it. Um, I was in tears at different parts. I laughed out loud a lot. A fantastic book with so much emotion and so many interesting characters. And Sea of Tranquility by Emily St. John Mandel. I can't wait to read this book again. I read it a few years ago, and Emily St. John has become one of my favorite authors. I've read all of her books. I have a first edition copy of Last Night in Montreal up there, and this book is just so good. I love it. Go read it. Lonesome Dove by Larry McMurtry. Love this book like so many of you. And I do not like westerns. At least I thought I didn't. It's the first one I ever read, so it's not fair to say. Read it last year and just was absolutely hooked on the characters and the action. And I read the rest of the Lonesome Dove series, and I love all those books. So if you like any of these books, if you like reading, uh, um, let's, uh, let's be friends, okay?
