Cold calling your favorite bookstore to get book recs

I'm gonna cold call a bookstore to see what we should be reading today. I'm cold calling a bookstore out of Fort Collins Colorado. It's called Old Firehouse Books and shout out to Mia Sue and Mia Lyn for the recommendation. Let's give them a call right now. Old Firehouse Books how can I help? Hey there. Um, this is kind of a random call. My name is Braden. I make videos about books. I was just seeing if you had a few minutes to answer a couple questions for me. If someone walks in, you can hang up on me. It's fine. Um, what's maybe your all-time favorite book? Or maybe your favorite book of the year so far? My all-time favorite book is easy. I have a huge tattoo of it on my arm. No, it's um, it's called Gideon the Ninth. It's a sci-fi fantasy by Tamsyn Muir and easily my favorite book. What's that about? That sounds interesting. The tagline is Lesbian Necromancers in space. Okay. That is quite the tagline. The first book is about sorcerers and sword fighters exploring an old dilapidated mansion for clues to become and they're all competing to become the next like god basically. Whoa, so you're into that kind of like that that fantasy genre? It sounds like yeah. Can you think of the book that you read that got you into reading? That hooked you? Maybe it was a book you read as a kid or or later in life? Yeah, um, to for me it would be a book called I think it's called Dragon Champion. Dragon Dragon Champion. Cool, yeah. By E.E. Knight. It was like a middle grade fantasy um series. Cool. And yeah, it's a dragon series from the perspective of the dragons basically. That's awesome. Nice, and that kind of set the tone for you.
