Cold calling your favorite bookstore to see what we should be reading today. I'll be cold calling a bookstore at a Farmington, New Mexico called Quill and Quest. And actually Jordan Killiman said I should give them a call so let's give them a call right now. Quill and Quest Bookstore. How can I help you? Hey there. Um, my name is Braden. Um, I make videos about books and I was just curious if you had a couple minutes to answer a couple questions for me. Um, yeah, sure. What's like the last book you sold selling a lot of the, uh, the Never Whistle at Night books? They're indigenous, um, anthologies that are like horror kind of dark fiction or things like that. Kind of dark fiction or things like that. And so yeah, and because of the area we're located in, that resonates really well with people. That is so cool. I've never heard of it. What's a maybe your favorite book of the year so far? Green City Wars by Adrian Tchaikovsky. Okay. It's kind of like a biopunk science fiction. It's like a human society is kind of like become Utopia but it's built on top of genetically engineered animals that have been engineered to be smart enough to run all of the dirty, grimy undercity parts of society. And so it follows, it follows like a, a private detective raccoon who gets wrapped up in a lot of crazy stuff in this undercity. That sounds so cool. An author you discovered recently? Matt Dinniman, the Dungeon Crawler Carl books. Yep, once I started reading his books, like wow, where this guy been? Yeah. It's like the coolest feeling. That happened to me with Ann Patchett recently. I yes. Do you like sniffing the books while you're in the store? Occasionally, yeah, yeah. The new book smell is awesome. And can you think of maybe the book that initially got you into reading as a kid? I got really into the Redwall books by, yep, Brian Jacques been great. I appreciate it. Yeah, thank you. Yeah, thank you.
