We have mediocre things because people aren't allowed to do what they love. Every afternoon a group of dog walkers descends onto a park that's really close by me. And that's honestly not really the issue. What is the issue is that it is very clear that these are not dog people. A lot of the time they kind of are very ambivalent towards the dogs, ignore them or don't like give them water as often as they need to. This is an issue that's been bothering me for a while and is more widespread than just dog walking. I think it stretches to every brand that exists, the content creators that exist, the kind of information that's available. People are able to do things because it makes money, and they need to do things because it makes money. But because of that, everyone else kind of suffers for the mediocrity of the product or the service. I'll go back to the dog walking example. I know some dog walkers who love dogs. The reason they are dog walkers is because they love everything about dogs. They know everything about dogs and they treat those dogs like they're their babies, regardless of if those dogs are theirs or not. And that's because everything that they're doing comes from a genuine place of love, of excitement, of desire, of passion and alignment. And when you force people into a world where they kind of have to make money first and choose that desire or drive second, everyone else suffers. Because then that thing, regardless of what it is, even if it's babysitting even for a human child, becomes a job. And once something becomes a job, you're able to distance it from yourself and become kind of neutral to the consequences, neutral to the needs of that product or that service. And become more focused on your core goal, right? Which is protecting yourself, sustaining yourself, and making money. I don't really have a solution besides urging people to do what they genuinely love and trying as much as possible to find things that you're actually excited about, which can be very hard in the life that we live in. And to also use discernment to notice when you are hiring someone who is potentially doing things for the wrong reasons, to bring in a bachelorette or bachelor term.
