Instead, it was aggregated from Gallup's nationally representative samples of all Americans over five years (2015-2019). In an email to Jewish Currents, Newport confirmed his methodology for reaching the 95% figure: He identified 128 people who described their religion as "Jewish" in the broader studies and used that subsample for his calculation. Yeah, this is probably how what the Jewish population generally thinks.
