Survival tips for home intrusion Here's some survival tips for home intrusions. In any and every case of home intrusion, your main objective should always be to leave immediately. Nothing in your house is worth your life. Turn off all the lights around your house. You know your house layout better than anyone else. If there is a knock in any part of your house, do not investigate. Do not assume that it's from outside. You do not know if any knock is outside the house or inside. The intruder might already be inside and trying to lure you to them. Never assume there's only one intruder. This is an advice that is often neglected. This rule goes especially if you live alone. If escape is not possible: BARRICADE YOUR ROOM IMMEDIATELY, quickly but quietly. Turn the room you're in into a fortress. You have only mere seconds to do this. Silence your devices, DO NOT BREATH LOUDLY or move around. Silence everything. The moment you realize someone is inside your house, silence your phone, silence your devices. Hide very quietly and listen for breathing or footsteps. Turn off all the lights around your house so you don't give away your position or your silhouette. The next tip is so much more important than people realize. Call the police or emergency services very quietly. This is extremely difficult, but if you can manage to pull this off, your chances of survival rise. Use anything nearby you as a weapon. Never go hunting for the intruder. You do not know if they are armed. They most likely are. If you come face to face with the home intruder, DO NOT comply. Fight to the death. There is a reason why they are in your house. Nobody enters your house uninvited unless they have a grim, horrible and disturbing reason to be there. They might intend to kidnap you, rob your house and then kill you. Take you to a secondary location. Do not trust anything. Fight to your death. Avoid being taken to a secondary location at all costs.
