Survival Tips
Tell someone where you're going and when you expect to return, especially when meeting strangers or hiking.
If your instincts tell you something is wrong, leave. You don't need proof to remove yourself from a situation.
If someone is trying to get you to a second location against your will, fight to your death. Once you reach that second location, your chances of survival drop to near zero
NEVER answer any knocks/ doorbells at your door at times between 12pm-5am
If something is delaying you, let it
If your child is lost in public. Teach them to approach the next adult immediately(especially women with children). If they sit/ stand still looking visibly lost, they are more likely to be approached by a child predator
In any, and every case of home intrusions. Your main objective should ALWAYS be to escape as immediately as possible.
You are most vulnerable during transitions (e.g - showering, washing your face, opening doors, walking to your car/from your car). Predators wait for these moments to strike. ALWAYS pay attention to your surroundings
ALWAYS check the backseat of your car and the area around your car before getting inside.
People have vanished within 30 meters from their own home. NEVER assume safety until you actually enter your home.
If someone ever try breaks into your home: TURN OFF ALL YOUR LIGHTS. You know your home layout better than anyone
If someone is physically trying to grab you and take you somewhere, drop your weight, and go limp. Most attackers rely on quick control, and dead weight is much harder to control/move, than someone resisting upright
When approached by a stranger, especially when isolated: pay attention to their hands. Some attackers act quick, relying on the slightest second of distraction before striking. Never break visual contact until you're physically far away.
If you get into a taxi or a cab. NEVER tell the driver that you don't know where you're going
Just because someone knocks on your door doesn't mean you should answer it
Children get abducted in broad daylight sorrounded by people in public all the time. PAY ATTENTION to your children at all times
No matter how stressful, and how urgent a situation is. NEVER allow yourself to fall into someone else's timeline. (E.g - never allow a stranger rush you into doing something)
If you suspect you are being followed, take 4 right turns and if they're still behind you, YOU ARE BEING FOLLOWED. DO NOT GO HOME, go to the police station or public well lit place immediately
Never hitchhike, not even with a friend(s)
