Day 21 ❤️ Today was one of the toughest days yet. Oscar started today’s run already struggling. After being up most of last night with stomach pain, and with his legs really beginning to feel the miles, I could tell before we’d even set off that today was going to be tough. As the run went on, he kept telling me how much his legs were hurting. But every time I checked on him, he’d say the same thing “My legs are really hurting… but I’m pushing through for Maison.” 🥹🥹 Then, just when we thought we’d make it to the finish, another setback. Some of Maison’s friends spotted us while we were running and came over to say hello. During it all, one of their quad bikes accidentally fell onto Oscar’s foot. We were almost at 1.5km. He was in so much pain that I carried him until we reached the 1.5km mark. But he was determined to finish the rest himself, so he got back down and ran the final 100 metres to the finish line. Watching your child push through pain is incredibly hard. Every instinct tells you to stop them. But Oscar’s focus never changed. Every mile is about determination, friendship, and the reason behind every single mile. We are so proud of you❤️
