Y'all know when it comes to sports, I'm here for the people and the stories, not just the box score. And this one will stay with me for a long time. Investigation Discovery's new show, executive produced by Shaquille O'Neal, is called Game Day Murders and it explores how ambition, competition and violence can collide. Basically, it covers cases that rocked the sports world. And the show's first episode starts with the story of Patrick Dennehy. Patrick was a 21-year-old basketball player at Baylor who had real NBA dreams. He transferred in, redshirted a year to get his big opportunity, and then he went missing. The story that unraveled was so much bigger than just one tragedy. It really showed what people would do to protect themselves. It was a story about loyalty, about truth, and about who pays the price when a program cares more about winning than the people at the center of it all. I'm not gonna tell you how it ends because I don't want to spoil it, and I want you to sit with it the way that I did. But Patrick's story that is covered on Game Day Murders, you don't wanna miss the season premiere on Monday, July 27th on Investigation Discovery and streaming on Max.
