pretty much every review I've seen of this, people either love it or hate it and I'm very curious to see where I fall on that spectrum. Welcome back to another brutally honest review and today we're reviewing none other than the brand new Rare Beauty lip oil sticks. They're soft pinch lip oil sticks to be exact. And as always, honesty is the only thing I hear because I am not afraid to get kicked off PR lists and we will be doing a wear test to see just how long these actually last on my lips. I just bought these at Ulta, they retail for $25 each and they were pretty picked over so I got the colors that they had left. I've been very intrigued to review this. As far as the price point goes, $25 is pretty much what so many lip products now are being priced at that point, which is crazy, but I mean, it is what it is. There are definitely still some more affordable options. But these aren't. They're $25. Anyway, I got them in three different shades. I'm just gonna swatch them. This has pretty decent pigment for a lip oil stick. I do really like the packaging. I think this is adorable. Let's see how dark this ends up being. Yes, so I don't think that'll work on me, but it will definitely work well for people who have deeper skin tones. I really wanted one of the mauvy shades because that's usually what I go for. But again, they were all sold out. Here we have shades Wish, Success and Journey. I'm going to do shade Wish on my lips. I'm very curious to see if these stain like the other lip oils from Rare Beauty because I definitely had some strong opinions on those other lip oils because they were literally just lip stains. Like I did not get any of the moisture or the nourishment from those lip oils. So I'm curious to see if these are more moisturizing. They definitely swatched smooth and looked shiny on my hand. So let's test them on my lips. Okay. Very pink. Also very thin. The shade looks pretty cute. It's something I would wear regularly. No, it's a little too bright for me. But maybe like once in a while thing. As far as the formula goes, definitely on the thinner side. It's smooth enough, but I wish it had a little bit more smoothness to it. It also doesn't look as shiny on my lips like they look moisturizing but they don't look shiny. I do think my favorite thing about this is the pigment because it is rare that you see a lip oil product that has bolder pigment like this. It's not crazy, but it's definitely there. I'm going to go about the rest of my day wearing this and I will check back in every hour to see just how well it's holding up. It's been like one and a half hours of wearing this and here's what it looks like on my lips. My moisture has gone down, but my lips still feel a little bit moisturized and you can obviously still see the color. Two hour mark. It still looks the same. Color still there. Moisture still there. Haven't been talking or drinking or anything. I've just been working. So I haven't really been testing it very heavily. It's been just about four hours since I applied this. I just finished my dinner and the moisture is definitely gone from my lips. And the color is also mostly gone. It literally looks like a lip liner around my lips. It's been five hours of wearing this. Here is what my lips look like now. The color has faded a little bit more. The 12 hour wear claim that they make about this online. I don't know if they mean color wise or moisture wise or both. But either way, those don't really live up to their claims. Do I like it for the pigment? Yes. Do I wish it was a bit smoother? Also yes. It's good. It's not a favorite of mine and it also doesn't live up to their claims.
