Why it worked

The video likely resonated due to its contrarian take on a common topic (education) and its framing of a perceived societal inequity, tapping into existing frustrations about wealth disparity and educational access.

Summary

The creator argues that wealthy individuals do not homeschool their children, but instead send them to private secular schools. They suggest that the rich encourage poorer people to homeschool while using public funds to subsidize their own private education choices.

Structure

1The rich don't homeschool
2They send kids to private school
3They tell poor people to homeschool
4They use public funds for private school
5Follow the money

On-screen text

fyi the rich do not homeschool their children JUST A REMINDER, THE RICH ARE NOT HOMESCHOOLING THEIR CHILDREN. THEY'RE SENDING THEM TO PRIVATE, SECULAR EDUCATION. THEY'RE ONLY TELLING POOR PEOPLE TO HOMESCHOOL THEIR KIDS. POOR PEOPLE GO TO VOTE FOR REPRESENTATIVES IMPLEMENT VOUCHER PROGRAMS TO FURTHER SUBSIDIZE THE RICH'S PRIVATE SCHOOL. (which takes money from public schools and makes them worse) ALRIGHT, IT'S ALL YOU GOTTA FOLLOW THE MONEY. THIS: IF HOMESCHOOLING WAS SO EFFECTIVE, WHY AREN'T THE RICH DOING IT?

Original caption

The rich know that homeschooling ends in worse outcomes. Just like how the rich tell the poor that college isn’t worth it but then send their kids to ivy leagues. Y’all are falling for “do as I say not as I do” hook, line, and sinker. #homeschool #publicschool #teachers #backtoschool #educatorsoftiktok
