Why it worked
The video taps into a common sentiment about the beauty of California and frames it as a direct consequence of specific political decisions, making a potentially dry topic engaging and relatable. The contrast with other states adds a layer of commentary that resonates with viewers.
Summary
The creator argues that California's beauty is a direct result of its political choices, specifically its laws protecting public access to its coastline and its extensive state park system. They contrast this with other states that might prioritize development over public access.
Structure
- 1California's beauty is due to its politics, not in spite of them.
- 2Public ownership of the coastline ensures access for everyone.
- 3California has the largest state park system in the US.
- 4This land is protected for the people, a political choice.
- 5Other states might sell such land for development.

CALIFORNIA IS SO
INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL BECAUSE
OF THE POLITICS,
NOT IN SPITE
OF THEM.
THAT'S A HOT
ME GIVE YOU
IN CALIFORNIA, IT
IS IN OUR CONSTITUTION
THAT ALL 900
MILES OF OUR
COASTLINE BELONG TO
THE PEOPLE.
THAT MEANS NO
Matter HOW RICH
YOU CANNOT OWN
THE BEACH, NOR
CAN YOU RESTRICT
ACCESS TO IT,
WHICH IS VERY
IMPORTANT BECAUSE A
PEOPLE HAVE TRIED
AND LOST.
NOW, WHILE SOME
RED STATES MIGHT
CALL THAT COMMUNISM,
THAT BEING CALIFORNIAN.
NO ONE CAN
OWN THE BEACH.
THAT'S POLITICS,
RIGHT? AND.
FURTHER THAN THAT.
CALIFORNIA ALSO HAS
BEST AND LARGEST
STATE PARK SYSTEMS
IN THE ENTIRE
COUNTRY. WE'RE TALKING
1.6 MILLION ACRES
OF PRIME CALIFORNIA LAND
SET ASIDE FOR
THE PEOPLE. THAT'S
A POLITICAL CHOICE.
AND WE'RE TALKING
PRIME REAL ESTATE HERE.
I MEAN, THERE
ARE SOME INCREDIBLE
BEACHES THAT ARE
PARK SYSTEMS.
SOME RED STATES
WOULDN'T HESITATE TO
TO A DEVELOPER OR
OR TURN INTO
DATA CENTRE.
NOT IN CALIFORNIA.
THAT LAND BELONGS
TO THE PEOPLE.
POLITICAL CHOICE.
