Teachers, let me show you how to make weekly newsletters on Canva for Class Dojo. Alright, I'm in my Canva. I'm gonna go to create in the search bar. I'm gonna type the word class and then they have ClassDojo story. What's really amazing about Canva is they have a ton of templates already made for you, but I am someone who likes to make their own. First thing you're gonna do is find a background that you want. So this one I used and I just typed in like groovy funky background and it came up with this. I'm gonna click it once I get here. I'm going to go to this three dots and we'll set image as background. Alright, once I have the background, I'm gonna click R on my keyboard. It's gonna pop up this square. I use two squares or two rectangles on my newsletter. I have one up top for important dates. Let me center that. And then I will have one on the bottom for everything that we're learning for the week. I don't like how square that is though. So I come up here and I round the corners to about 50%. Little bit more rounded, whatever. Um, I also like to outline the boxes because I want them to stand out a little bit better. And I don't really like this orange. So I'm gonna change the color up here. I'm gonna make it this kind of lilac color, just to make it kind of flow better. From here, you can either click the text button on the menu or you can click T on your keyboard and it'll pop up a text box. I moved my text box to the top. I wrote third grade newsletters and then I added the date of the week that this newsletter is for. From there, I'm gonna come up here and I'm gonna choose the font that I want. Um, I like to make something that's easy for parents to read. Um, you can make it bold, whatever. I chose Open Sauce. I'm also going to decrease the line space so that these two lines are closer together, so that I can make them bigger. All my life. I'm gonna come up here and I'm gonna choose the font that I want. We have a high population of bilingual students on our campus, so I'm gonna use the translate tool and it will automatically translate what we have so far. They even have different tones that you can choose from. I always have one of our bilingual teachers kind of check over it and make any changes that they need to. This is an example of one of mine from last year at the end of the year, I use the exact same template basically every week.
