Bay Area rent is now topping New York City. And when it comes to one bedroom apartment, San Francisco's medium rent just below New York City hitting a new all time high of about forty two hundred dollars a month. That's for the one bedroom. Now the median two bedroom apartment in the city, now the most expensive in the country, topping $6,000 a month. And how much of this is driven by AI? A lot of it because AI is where the big salaries are right now. And so you have a lot of these companies saying hey come to the Bay Area we're the leader in AI and that's very exciting and these salaries are very high. But if you're not in AI right now, and I mean AI chips, memory, software, a lot of these jobs are being spread around in the tech industry but for non tech people it's not only hard to say put down a giant down payment, it's also hard to pay a monthly rent of as much as six to eight thousand dollars a month through a two bedroom apartment in San Francisco where so many of these jobs are.
