Trying Nasi Pidong food from Paggi Sore. I have never had Nasi Pidong before. It's a specific type of Indonesian food. I ordered as many things as I could off the menu. Let's see if it's worth trying to say goodbye. So this right here is their famous Nasi Ruma. It is rice and vegetables with a whole bunch of different sauces. Now the way they eat Nasi Pidong, at least from what I understand is they kind of use this as the base and then they add things to it and eat around it. And obviously since there's no meat, you guys know I'm going to add some meat. I'm a little bit scared because I see a lot of chili peppers, but we're doing it for the culture. So here we go. Little piece of tempe. That's actually not bad. Really spicy. Immediately. Okay. Oh, that's delicious. This tastes like some sort of curry. It could be wrong, but I don't even know what this is. Is this jackfruit? I think this is jackfruit. Honestly, that's really good. I don't really care about the jackfruit, but just whatever the flavor of that yellow sauce is salt, a couple of green beans. Okay. I like this one. Get some rice with the sauce. Mhm. Greens. Those are very bitter. These I have no idea what they are. never tested anything like them. Very unique flavor. This looks super spicy. Pretty sure this is assembled, but I could be wrong. Okay, this one's really liquid. I probably was not supposed to do that. This is just an ocean of sauce on my plate now. Oops. All right, first dish I'm going to try is beef and dong with dangdang. So dangdang is sliced beef with some sort of chili sauce. And then beef and dong I actually have had before. I love beef and dong. Beef and dong, beef and dong. I don't know if I'm saying it right once again. But this stuff I know is good. I'm going to put this right on top of the rice. Okay. There is a lot going on here. Fwoosh would be nice right now, but as the Indonesians do, we eat with our hands here. That's how we get down. We got a little beat and down with the rice. Oh wow. That is good. That is super unique. And this yellow flood of sauce is actually really good too. Uh, with some tempe. That is really good. It's so rich. The spices in this are crazy. Man, we are just getting started and my mouth is It's already on fire. Oh, R&P my stomach. I got that boozle stomach. We can't handle this stuff. This is I'm not going to lie. This is out of control. The sliced beef is just covered in chili. I can't eat this. I'm going to wipe as much of it off as I can. I'll do one piece for the culture. I'm using this yellow sauce again. That's actually not bad. It's just so spicy. It's good. Actually, I do like it. It's really spicy. That's actually pretty good. I'm going to do one more piece cuz it's it's fire. Trying this green one next. Oh my gosh. My mouth is burning. This ring dang is so good. This is all worth a try. My mouth is on fire. Next up, we got some traditional fried chicken. Let's see what this sauce is all about. That smells interesting. Oh. Let's try the sauce. That's pretty good. I don't know what this sauce is. I like it. A lot of people always said not super dang is its own thing. And I always thought, it's all the same. No, it's Ah, it really is. It's on thing. It's really good. Oh wow, that chicken just came right off. It's still juicy. Go for the brown sauce again. Black sauce, whatever this is. Okay. I'm down with that. I like that one. Dude, this is all worth trying. Despite the crazy levels of spiciness, the flavors are great. Indonesian food is really growing on me. Next up, we got a porchetta. This is apparently like a mashed potato infused burger patty. Try and burberry. And then we have yam gulay and sauce gulay, which is chicken and beef gulay. Don't know is, but I am the chicken sooper. Also don't know which one's beef or which one's chicken. Oh. What the heck is this? I don't know what this is. Oh, this is um this is uh cow skin, I think or cow stomach or something like that. Interesting. I can tell it's very cholesterol rich. It's kind of just like a bunch of fat. Okay. I like the sauce. Let me try it with the chicken too. Chicken right next to the beef skin or stomach, whatever one that is. I'm really not sure. That's good. That's really good. Yeah, maybe that's what that yellow sauce was. It's the gulai sauce. I think it's a good because it looks exactly alike. I'm going to go ahead and say that I'm a big gulai fan. That might also sound completely ridiculous and not make sense, but I don't care. I'm a fan of gulai. Whatever this yellow orange sauce is, fire. The beef skin one is, ain't, but the chicken one is definitely hitting. I'll gladly finish this. Major W for worth a try. Let's get a piece of the beef skin with the beef rendang and the rice. Yeah, that's good. I'm an absolute disaster right now. Whatever. Let's get messy. Time to try the mashed potato Patty. Percodella. This is very interesting looking. Have a close up of that, guys. What the heck am I even holding right now? Okay. What's the inside look like? Okay, yeah, yeah, yeah. I see there. Look, it's like this mashed potatoes. Okay, little beef for mashed potatoes. Here we go. I can truly say this tastes like meat and potatoes. This is like the least Indonesian flavor I've ever had. I mean, this This just tastes like Polish food. I'm Polish. Very bland, very neutral. But in a good way, it's mild, it's nice, it's good. I'm dipping it in the gulai sauce. I like the gulai sauce, man. Gulai. Gulai. Here we go. Mm. Dude, this flavor is so good. Paggi Sore Gulai sauce. Okay, I like this one. This is good. This is nice for my bulet taste buds. A nice little break from the spicy heat. I'm starting to feel the heat all of my cheeks. Not good for me. Nose is running. Next up is Barrendo. Rondo is a mixture of fried chicken and duck eggs. It's just a giant fried egg. Look at that outer crisp though. Wow. Holy moly. Okay, that's delicious. It's super oily. Very rich. Got that nice little crispy outside. It's almost like a mashed potato but with eggs. Delicious. Now I understand why the Nasi Padong is like supposed to be eating little by little piece by piece. Cuz everything just goes together. I take a little bit of this. I take a little bit of this. I dip it in the sauce. You get right, you put that on top. Boom. Put on. Little bit of this. Mm. Mm. It's doing this thing in here right now. Worth the try. Fine. Next up, we got a I am pop. I am pop. I like that name. This is a chicken with a sweet white curry. I have no idea what to expect. This looks extremely interesting. Oh, they left the whole chicken neck in there and everything. Oh, this is this is wild. Look at this. Look. Bro. Oh, that's a shot everywhere. Oh, That's wait this, wait a second. That's good. Like it tastes coconut. Mm. It's like a coconut cream curry. That's great. This is delicious. I love this one. Mm. I could eat this all day. Once again, nice break from the taste buds being absolutely toasted. Mm. I am pop. It's popping. Mm. This is good. No, this one's really good. Gulay and pop are the best too so far. The red onion is right behind too. Mm. Gulay and pop sauce. Fire combo. Our last and final dis. Satte padang, which is beef tongue Satte or skewer. Got the fried shallot. Nice. Rubus. Wow. That is a lot. And a huge thing of sauce is so much. I'm not going to pour this all out. Just a little bit. Very thick. Look at that. It's almost like gravy. Is this Indonesian gravy? That is juicy. Okay, that's enough. Satte padang with the sauce. It's tender. I think that. This one has a very unique flavor. I have no idea what I'm tasting right now. It's like Got a weird nutty sweet caramelized type of flavor. I've had a lot of beef tom. I've never had beef tom that tastes like this. This one has a very flat tight flavor. It's not pungent or rich, but it's like floral. Very floral. Vanilla caramel, interesting. The meat is so good though. I'm not going to lie. The meat is so good. It's so tender. I won't even lie when I saw this one. I thought it was going to be dry. Not at all. It's tender. It's really good. All right y'all. One last bite here. A little bit of this, a little bit of that, a little bit of that, a little bit of this. Now, see the dong. Pappy Soar, worth the try, I'm going to go. Absolutely worth the try. This is great. This is excellent Indonesia food. I've had a lot of Indonesian food. This is by far in the top rank. Flavors are awesome. Besides the chili peppered beef strips, everything was very juicy and tender. This one was a little bit dry, but the flavor is phenomenal. Just way too spicy for me. All the other stuff is great. As far as Indonesian food goes, this is like top three I would say that I've ever had. But yeah, overall, worth a try. Pappy Soar, very good.
