I'm Jeff Morgan in Eastern Baltimore County. A Giant Food store in Putty Hill Plaza is closing its doors to begin next month. And people in the area are frustrated with the decision. Just off the Beltway in Nottingham, a Giant Food store that's served the community for half a century is closing down. The store is shutting its doors on August 6th, a shock to the long-time customers. I'm so sad to see it go. Good customer service. They try to learn you by your name. So when you come in, they talk to you by your name. Food is always fresh. They're just the most. It's a great atmosphere. Great place. I'm heartbroken that it's leaving. Robin has been coming to the store for nearly two decades. It's a little easier just by the bout way if you're going on a trip or something, you need to get something quick. You can stop here to pick ice and food and get right on the beltway and keep going to your destination. I really love it. Giant didn't give an exact reason for the shutdown, but said that the decision came after the normal examination of business and market trends, according to the Baltimore County workforce and economic development employee who met with the store.
