Three meals we're already planning a trip back to Japan for. 🇯🇵 Yakiniku Kappo Note (Azabu-Juban, Tokyo) Yakiniku served kappo style, course by course, A5 wagyu grilled for you at the counter. The 1 rated restaurant in Azabu-Juban on Tripadvisor. Some of the best meat we've eaten anywhere. TAKAYAMA (Kyoto) One Michelin star, tucked on the second floor of Good Nature Station. Chef Takayama trained in modern Italian, but the food is a synthesis of Italian technique, Japanese ingredients, and influences from everywhere else he's cooked. Course after course of small plates that look like art, sent out from an open kitchen behind a semicircular counter. Our most surprising meal of the entire honeymoon. Tsukiji Outer Market (Tokyo) No stars. No reservation. No counter. Just fresh cut otoro and chutoro eaten standing at a table on the street. Cost the least of anything on this list and still made the cut. One more thing. My wife has celiac, and all three worked for her. Note and Takayama both accommodated fully when we flagged it in advance. At Tsukiji, order sashimi instead of sushi. A lot of sushi rice in Japan is seasoned with grain vinegar, which blends in barley or wheat, so the rice itself can be a problem. Skip the soy sauce and bring your own tamari. Which one are you going to first? Drop it in the comments. A lot more Japan and honeymoon content on the way. Stay tuned. 👀 Follow for more tips to supercharge your points accumulation, elevate your travel, and let's work smarter — not harder. 🚀 #JapanEats #Japan #Tokyo #Kyoto #japantravel
