Southwest has a flash sale going on for the next 36 hours where you can save 40% off your next flight. No promo code. The discount applies automatically, and because Rapid Rewards is revenue-based, it hits points bookings too. Here's exactly how it works: ✅ Book by Thursday 10/8 ✅ Travel 10/26/26 to 3/3/27 ✅ Cash fares and Rapid Rewards award bookings 🚫 Blackout dates: Within the continental U.S.: 11/20–11/23, 11/28–11/30, 12/18–12/22, 12/24–12/29, 12/31–1/4, 1/18, 2/12, 2/15 Continental U.S. to intl., Hawaii, Anchorage, St. Thomas, San Juan: 11/19–11/25 and 12/17–1/5 Back from those: 11/27–12/1 and 12/17–1/5 Interisland Hawaii isn't included. Not every flight is discounted and not every discount is the full 40%, so search wide. Late October, early November, January, and February are where the value is. Flexible around the holidays? 12/23 and 12/30 aren't blacked out for domestic flights. 💡 Already booked in this window? Price it out fresh. If it dropped, cancel and rebook at the sale price and take back the cash or the points. Don't modify the existing booking, because changing a sale itinerary voids the savings.
