This is the first ever film shot on IMAX's new Keighley film camera. And there are only 8 cameras left in the world! It is one of the loudest cameras on the planet. So loud that shooting an entire film on it was impossible. Because the noise would ruin everything. So IMAX actually built a special casing just for this movie. None of them are for sale. This camera shoots on real film, and each frame holds a resolution of nearly 18K packed with over 130 million pixels in a single frame. This camera can only run up to 3 minutes continuously, and just renting it for a week would cost around $16,000 before you even start shooting. The entire film reel is 18km long when it stretches, and there are only around 30 to 40 theaters left that can project an IMAX movie properly. This is exactly why Christopher Nolan keeps choosing this and spends millions just to shoot a handful of scenes. Because no digital camera has ever matched that raw film look.
