presumably punishable by law? Stitch Incoming (Basically - yeahh) and their first thought was I bet that would lead to some wacky adventures. I actually talked about this in my last video about one night only but that was a very long rambling yap. So let me talk about it more specifically. Uh not only is it uh absolutely ridiculous. I fully believe this movie was not only made for straight people but by straight people who have never met a queer person because every single thing about this movie is so aggressively straight it's kind of frustrating like on the more serious side of things this film was clearly made by people who have never heard of sex laws right for a very long time same sex intimacy was literally illegal. You couldn't do it period. Um and this film has a very weird moment in one of the most bizarre in my opinion where the main female lead who has a lesbian roommate uh turns to the lesbian roommate who doesn't plan on going out for the one night and is like oh no but you should go out too. You also should enjoy this night. And the lesbian turns around and goes no this real this night's really about you straights anyway. We gay people have been figuring out ways around your laws for forever which just feels incredibly disingenuous. Queer people are very rarely not the targets of morality laws. They're usually the ones that they come after first. The idea of a chastity law that queer people can get around easily. No it would probably be way worse for queer people. That being said there's also some funny ways that this movie is aggressively straight. Uh my favorite example is that both the main guy and the main girl have this sort of sidekick character who is encouraging them to go out and get the other person and do their thing. Um and both of them in my opinion are stereotypically straight sidekicks by which I mean the girls is a lesbian. The only way in my opinion that could be a straighter sidekick if is if it was a gay man. Um queer people being sidekicks to straight people is very straight. Uh but for the guy Callum Turner uh you wanna know who his sidekick is? It's literally his mommy. Literally his mommy is the one telling him go out there and go do the thing go go get some go get the girl. This movie is so straight it's kind of hilarious as well as frustrating
