It's 9:55 on a Friday night.

It's 9:55 on a Friday night. My husband is playing football. I just came home from work. I worked an event for Ralph Lauren. It's the official US Open store. Ralph Lauren and US Open there like this. So they hired me as a brand ambassador so I can help with some photo opportunities and stuff like that. While I was at work, I'm like, what am I gonna eat for dinner since my husband's not gonna be home? I'm gonna do a soup. We had a roast yesterday, so I chopped this up with some mushrooms, and then I did some chicken stock with a little bit of water. Then I popped in the corn that we roasted yesterday as well, bok choy. And then I have some buckwheat noodles here. This is what I'm having for dinner when he comes home. There's pizza, cause he wanted pizza for Friday night. And I put some sambalique in here with soy sauce and a little bit of maple syrup just to balance out the flavors. And I squeeze the lime on top. Yeah. Hmm. Oh, there's a smokiness from the beef. That broth is rich. Mmm. So good. So whenever I'm working in these spaces, remember, I do brand ambassador work, so it's constantly changing. Right? People are asking me where I'm from, because when we have a little bit of downtime, they get to know you. This is how we network, right? So I always do the pitch. I was born and raised in Guyana, then I lived in New York, and then I moved to UK, and then I came back to New York, and now I'm living with my husband. So it's that. And then they get inquisitive. They ask, where is Guyana? So I tell them it's in South America. They're like, but aren't you South American? Geographically South American. Culturally, Caribbean, we're westernese. We're from Guyana, so we're Guyanese. In the drop down menu when you do government paperwork, they ask you what's your ethnicity? And so we're consider Asian. So, you know, we're very unique. So some people, they never heard where Guyana's from. So today I had to explain a bunch of times, I'm from Guyana. Yeah. They're like, but you look Indian. Yes, my ancestors are from India, though. But you don't have an accent. Your accent is all over the place. I know, I know. But like, when I say Guyana, that's when it comes out. You know, when I say certain words, it comes out, but then also, oh, my gosh, it's a full moon. But also when I explain some stuff, they hear a little bit of British and then they hear a little bit of New York, you're so unique. And I'm like, stop. But what I'm most excited to tell you right now is seeing my own people in the same space as me. So one of the managers, she oversees the entire Project. I just. I know you, I know your face. Did you work this and this? And I'm like, no, but I did work her. But then I'm like, but I'm Caribbean, so I make contents. Maybe you've seen. He was like, oh, I'm Guyanese. I'm like, I'm Guyanese too. So it's just really nice to see my own people in the same space. I don't have to explain myself, you know what I mean? And there was another lady who gave me a hug cause she remembered me from the last time. She was so nice. She wanted to know if I had food or whatever, you know? So my people. I love seeing my own people in the same space as me. So it's not as repetitive, but like, oh, telling people where I'm from when they ask. Yeah, basically. I really love seeing my Caribbean people, especially my 90s people, in the creative space. It feels really good knowing that we are representing out there. And it's just. It's a nice reflection. Keep going, my guy. These people, we got this. I'm just gonna enjoy my dinner now, watch the full moon, do a little scrolling, shower and wait for my man.
