If you have a UK passport issued before Brexit, then you need to check this one thing to avoid your holiday being totally ruined. You may think that just having an in-date valid passport is totally fine for travelling to Europe, but since Brexit, there has been a change of the rules. Prior to Brexit, dates on your passport were able to be rolled over to the new one for up to nine months. Therefore, some passports are valid for 10 years and nine months. And where the issue comes in is the new rules, your passport has to be issued within 10 years of your travel date. Therefore, the expiry date technically means nothing. This is the bit that's tripping up a lot of customers at the moment. They're getting to the airport excited for their holiday and then being denied boarding because their passport is technically out of date. So you need to go grab your passport now and check when it was issued compared to when you're travelling. To make things easier, I have a link in my bio to a passport checker under useful links. Save this video so you know where to find it later on. Your passport to can do the checks, send it to all of your friends so they can check that their passports are valid as well. And make sure you're following me for more travel top tips.
