Being Young Unemployed in Tech is the worst! Being Young Unemployed in Tech will have you questioning, are you a bum? Because everywhere I go, people are constantly asking me, do you have a job yet? You got a job? What do you do to get a job? And it's like, dude, right now, it's hiring freeze. Everybody thinks there's so many jobs. It's like, you know, it'll probably balance out later, but right now, everything's like kind of frozen. No one really wants to hire entry level. And it'll also make me mad is like, I'd be questioning like, dang, am I a bum? Like, I'm really not doing anything with my life. But there was a point when I was doing a lot, you know, when I went to the number one HBCU in America. I did science. I did internships. I did a full-time job for a little bit in my field. I won first place in hackathons. I volunteered to help teach girls code. No one was ever there to congratulate me when I was doing that stuff. But now that I don't have a job, everyone's like, trying to throw their opinions out and constantly bugging me about getting a job. Like, I am trying to get a job. Like, right now, it's kind of a weird space in the tech industry. And I feel like it'll eventually balance out. I hope fingers crossed I have a job in like two months. But it's like, dang, I don't have one right now. And it's not from lack of trying. Like, I am trying, but it's just like, I got to give it some time.
