✨🇨🇳 NEW CHINESE DESSERT BAR IN AMSTERDAM 🇨🇳✨ Finally!!! My dreams have been answered!! 💫🤩 Coming from Hong Kong, I have been waiting for a place like this in Amsterdam for YEARS 😆🥹🇭🇰 Spoonoo (一勺糖水铺) is a tiny spot near Leidseplein specializing in 糖水 (tong sui, Chinese sweet soups), and walking in genuinely felt like being back home!! Everything is handmade and fresh, and it’s NOT. TOO. SWEET!!! 🎉👏🥳 (the ultimate asian dessert compliment, iykyk!!) Balanced, delicate, and SO full of textures 👏 What we tried: 🌸 Osmanthus Signature (€14,80): light and floral, with osmanthus jelly, soft taro paste, lotus seeds, chewy sweet potato balls and rice balls, plus a (coconut) milk base to pour in 🍧 Salted milk foam snow ice (€11,50): INCREDIBLE. So light it melts instantly, with salty-sweet cream, crunchy butter crisp corn flakes and biscoff. The crowd favorite, especially in this weather 😉 ❤️ Classic Signature (€13,80): chewy sweet potato balls, lotus seeds, red bean paste, grass jelly and rice balls with a milk base Already planning my return for the matcha signature and the other snow ices (matcha strawberry, oreo, taro!) 🥹 On the pricier side, but the portions are generous and easily shared between 2-4. There are also smaller custard bowls from €5-7 (sago, red bean, milk, matcha, taro) if you want something lighter 😉 Good to know: 🌱 All jellies are gelatin-free so vegetarian-friendly, with oat or coconut milk bases available 🕙 Open until 22:00, the perfect stop for dessert after dinner elsewhere 💡 You can ask them to up the sugar if you like things sweeter (I love it as is!)
