this is how you move into college because no one seems to cover that. and I'm not talking about what to bring to college because I already covered that. go watch it. I'm talking about how do you even do move in day? Some of you guys are gonna get tired of me hearing this, but my name is Abbie. I'm an uprising sophomore at Penn State. and I'm gonna help you make it through college. Yeah. Okay, starting off. You're gonna get a rooming assignment. It's gonna include your roommate, your room, and then it's gonna ask you what time you want to move in. Move in as early as possible. As early as possible. My move-in times were 10:00 AM, 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM and then it said anytime after 2. I moved in at 10:00 AM. Oh, but I don't wanna get up that early. Oh, but I have so much stuff to bring. Beat your roommate to college equals you pick the layout. If you beat your roommate there, you get to set up the room. That's what you want. Yeah, that's what you want. Pack as much of your stuff into one vehicle as possible and be prepared. You might either need two trips or two vehicles when you get to your college. See if they have move-in bins. My dorm was up on a hill. They had big moving bins. You just dump all your stuff in there and move it to your dorm. Move heavy stuff first. Things that go into your dorm first. Heavy stuff. Your mattress topper. If you have a bedside table. Those things go in first. Ladies, your clothes do not go in first. Leave the clothes in the car. Move in medium stuff. So once you move in your heavy stuff, next comes your medium stuff. Rugs, bathroom stuff, your ottoman. That comes in next. Things that come in last. Clothes. Little things. Little things like desk organizers, your toothbrush, shampoo. Those things go last. Clean it. Vacuum, swiffer, wipe down. So you're gonna get up into your dorm and the first thing you're gonna do is clean the entire thing, top to bottom. A lot of colleges don't clean the stuff well enough. They leave it up to whoever lived there last. That is nasty. Vacuum, swiffer, wipe down in that order. Vacuum, swiffer, wipe down. Not that hard to remember, guys. After you've moved everything into your dorm, do your bed first. Mattress topper, sheets, pillow. Boom. Done. Cause now you have somewhere that you just brought in from your dorm. And if your roommate's there, you need to put up on your bed to get it out of their way. Don't be an asshole. After you moved all your stuff in and you said bye to your family, you're literally about to have the funnest weekend of your life and I'm not even kidding. This is probably gonna be your first real taste of freedom. No parents, no rules. You're literally just a kid for the first time ever. You're gonna meet a ton of people and you're gonna go out all weekend. That's all you're gonna do. And then Sunday night, you're gonna open your schoolwork and see what you have to do and what classes you have to go to. If you guys have any questions, go in the comments. Wishing you luck. Bye.
