how to introduce yourself to your professors and what are the benefits of that. Hi, my name is Abbie and I'm an aspiring sophomore at Penn State Berks and I introduce myself to all my professors. Whether you're an introvert or an extrovert, you need to introduce yourself to your professor because it will separate you from the other 150 kids in your class. Let's say you're in my college professor and you're asking me for an extension, but I've never actually spoke to you before. I'm not giving you an extension. But that student that I know and that has come to me and been like, hey, I'm a college athlete, or, I don't do well in the subject, or, hey, I need an accommodation. I'm more likely to give them an extension. So that is the benefit of introducing yourself to your professor. Okay, how do you introduce yourself in, and what do you say? This is a common thing I get. Okay, so when I introduce myself to my professors, I usually say, hi, my name is Abbie. I'm a kinesiology major. I'm super excited to take your class. Or if it's something that I struggle in, I'm like, hi, my name is Abbie. I'm a kinesiology major and I'm not totally good at math. I might need some extra help. This lets your college professor know that you were like, like, a student who's going to be paying attention and that you're actually interested in this class versus somebody who's just riding and whether you are a student that's genuinely just riding through class, you need to introduce yourself in case you do need help. I actually ended up being, like, close, not like friends, because this is still but I ended up getting close with some of my professors and they would show up to my basketball games and then they would ask me how my games went or they'd see me on campus and be like, how was your day? Little things. Things like that. They want to know you and you want to know them because if you guys are on the same page, they will help you later down the line. And let's say you graduate and you need help with X, Y, Z, or you need help finding a job, you can reach back out to your professors after you graduate and be like, hey, my name is Abbie. I took your class. I need help with this. And they will help you. Remember guys, professors are people too. They have families and lives and they do want to know you. If you made it this far, might as well follow me because my followers have already deemed me as their college big sister and I'm gonna help you make it wishing you guys all luck. Bye.
