The story of my job search

2 and a half years ago I was living with my parents had to get a job at Walmart making $18.50 an hour and I was 34 years old. I had spent the past two years living abroad teaching English in South Korea ultimately becoming a full-time content creator and influencer and all that stuff. But when I turned 33 I was just over it all. I retired from that life, moved back in with my parents and thought I could just leverage all of my skills and get a new job. My job search was one year long. I applied to over 800 jobs in one year. I had two interviews. Ultimately I saved up some money and I hired my own career coach and within a month I got 10 interviews. I bombed 8 of them and ultimately got one job. I went from $28,000 to $80,000 in the industry I had zero experience in called sales. I was a training specialist. I learned a lot from my career coach and I just kind of developed my own routine of applying for jobs. Within three months, some people started reaching out to me and they said, Patrick, can you look at my resume? And I said, sure. And it was really bad. Because now I had this foresight and idea of how resumes are supposed to look and what not. The first person I helped got a job at Amazon. And I thought, man, that's crazy. And I said, can you look at my cousin now? I said, sure. Here we are 300 people later. I've left corporate America and now I've helped over 300 people find a job. It is not free, but it's also not as expensive as other career coaches. So the point of this story is y'all, I've been there. I've done it. It sucks. And the reason I am so blunt is because I don't want anybody to go through what I went through. You know, I'm very thankful I had the cushion of living with my parents. I didn't have a car payment, I didn't have all these crazy bills. Some people, they got kids, they don't know how they're gonna pay rent. And I try to be as affordable as possible, but at the same time, I have to have a number that respects me and what I offer. Because I've had people go from $60,000 to $121,000, $180,000.
