Today is my 16 yr old's first day of senior year. So let's make him some breakfast. I know that last time I mentioned he was about to be a senior. Some people were quite confused. In California the birthday cut off for kindergarten is September 1st. And my son's birthday just happens to be right after that. So when I went in roll him in school they told me that he had to go to TK, transitional kindergarten. Basically preschool. At this point my son had already done two years of preschool and I just knew that he was going to be bored. Lucky for us he was in a mixed class with TK and kindergarten students. And he could even write. So I spoke with the principal and she agreed to test him. That way he could go straight into first grade. The principal ended up leaving the school and somehow the paperwork didn't get passed along. So the following year they had put him in kindergarten which made my son very upset. I told the principal I'd be keeping him home until they can get it figured out. He must have thought I was joking. On the third day he gave me a call and said they'd be placing him in first grade. And from that point on he was always at the top of his class, taking honors and AP classes. I've never had to worry about my kid when it came to school. Although I'm sad to see him grow up so fast, I will be happy to not have to deal with public school anymore. This is how his breakfast turned out. I love you.
