Last week my 16-year-old girlfriend texts me when I was out of town with my little ones. She asked how we were doing and then said that she missed us. If that's not the sweetest thing, I don't know what is. I texted her back to let her know that we were doing good and that we missed her too. And I asked her what she had been up to. She said that she had gone to the beach and that she was starting her new job that day. I believe that it was her orientation. I told her how exciting, good luck on your first day. And then I immediately text my son and asked if she had Venmo. She said no, but she has Apple Pay. And then asked me why. I said because I want to buy her an ice cream for her first day at work. If you don't know me, I love celebrating the small things. About the minutes later my son sent me a picture of them enjoying ice cream from Cold Stone. Is he not the best son and boyfriend ever? I can't believe that they will be starting their senior year in just a couple of weeks. I am so proud of them and everything that they're doing. Anyways, my son just got home from football practice and my boy is hungry. So I decided to make him a breakfast sandwich. Today I went with grilled cheese with shredded cheese on the outside. I gave him a serving of eggs and doubled up on the eggs for extra protein. And of course, couldn't forget the avocado. I forgot how lucky I am to have homegrown avocados from my mom.
