On the hunt to find the best chocolate chip cookie recipe. Today we're making @DavesPizzaOven's chocolate chip cookies. So I'm obsessed with chocolate chip cookies. Craving a cookie that's thin with a little bit of crisp. I guess he's a pizza guy, but he made a cookie recipe, so I was like, okay, we gotta try it. This recipe seems kind of simple. So I'm excited to see how they turn out. Apparently, this recipe can be made within an hour, which sometimes makes me a little bit skeptical because I know cookies taste better when they sit in the fridge for a little bit, like overnight, preferably, but this one doesn't really require much chilling. So I melted one stick of salted butter. Adding both the sugars, so white sugar and dark brown sugar. Whisk for about a minute. We don't need a full egg, you just need one egg yolk. Instead of vanilla extract, we're using vanilla bean paste. One teaspoon of this. One tablespoon of heavy cream. Whisking for another minute. Then he just adds the dry ingredients directly to this. I am going to sift it because I don't like clumps. So flour, baking soda, and salt. Folding in the dry ingredients. Make sure to not overmix. Did you guys know that yesterday was National Chocolate Chip Cookie Day? I am so mad that I missed it. I didn't know about it until it was too late because of all people, I needed to be baking cookies yesterday. So I got to use bittersweet chocolate. He makes the dough balls about 50 grams. Baking these in the fridge for only 30 minutes. They actually hold their shape very, very well. These are going to bake at 350 for about 8 to 10 minutes. And halfway through, he bends the cookies to make them flat and get like a crinkle look to it, which is very similar to the Easy Bake Oven cookies. I'm going to sprinkle them with flaky sea salt. I don't know why, but my cookies did not really get the ripple effect. We also have to slam them after they're done baking. These are so little and cute. We're gonna bake them at 400 for 4 minutes. I'm going to bang them at 4 minutes. They're done baking. We also have to slam them after they're done baking. Sprinkle on some flaky sea salt.
