🍩 Texas Side Quest #31 – Doghouse Kitchen What happens when a kid who grew up helping his mom in restaurant kitchens decides to chase his dream? You get Doghouse Kitchen. Meet Ton—chef, baker, owner, and the entrepreneur behind the Doghouse brand. His philosophy is simple: “If someone is going to spend their hard-earned money with me, why would I serve them something they could buy at the grocery store?” That mindset is why everything is built around giving customers an experience they can’t find anywhere else in West Texas. Ton grew up in restaurant kitchens alongside his mom. Nearly 30 years later, he bet on himself. Three years after moving to Rotan, he bought nearly all of his commercial kitchen equipment from Facebook Marketplace—including equipment from an abandoned summer camp that looked like something straight out of a horror movie. In January 2024, he opened Fisher County’s first donut shop in five years. Then, in April 2026, he expanded again by opening Doghouse Kitchen, proving that hard work, creativity, and a little faith can turn a dream into something special.
