Birdie’s first steps as a two legged dog🤯😱🥲 On my drive up to Tahoe with Bodie & Birdie, Birdie had a little accident so I brought her out into the grass to clean her up, and after I finished, she just laid there looking so peaceful and beautiful. I grabbed my phone to get a little video for you guys before taking her inside… Then she stood up. And before I could even process what was happening, she started running toward me. I honestly couldn’t believe it!!! We hoped losing the weight of her back legs would make moving around easier, but we had no idea what the learning curve would be like! To see her immediately figure out her new body and NOT DRAG ANYTHING was a moment to celebrate!! And then, although she may look a little different doing it, she just started doing normal doggie things (sniff sniff👃🏼🌱)🥹 I had to to be the fun police and shut down the excitement😂 As incredible as it was, Birdie still has a lot of healing to do, and my biggest job right now is keeping her calm and clean. So after this magical little moment, I tucked her into bed in the crate where she will be spending a lot of time for the next few weeks. But wow… seeing Birdie lift her little butt up off the ground and walk exactly the way we hoped she would is something I’ll never forget🐾
