1yr old washing machine suddenly stops working at my rental.

Washing machine is less than a year old and suddenly stops working. Tenant says they didn't do anything wrong. But, when we picked it up, it was pretty clear it had been overloaded...and the inside was nasty. Normally, if an appliance breaks, it's on me. However, our lease is clear: "unless there are evidence signs of tenant misuse." So, who should pay?
