Anyone that gets online starts chat shit about British food. Just set them in front of a good roast and watch them shut up today. We're eating a Sunday roast in a pub that is over 900 years old. And was actually named by a king. This is the Royal Standard of England and it was named by King Charles the second. This actually was a site that Saxons would have drank about 1,000 years ago, so people have been getting drunk on this site for a thousand years, that's crazy. And today we're gonna go inside to enjoy one of their royal roasts that come in at £30 include three meats and supposed to have a Yorkshire pudding that is absolutely massive. So let's go inside. So we're sitting here in the Royal Standard of England and I want to show you around really quickly because it is just an absolutely gorgeous pub. It's it's so historic. Every room has a different piece that kind of stands out. So we're sitting here and I actually asked to be sat here because it's just such beautiful lighting. We've got the ship next to us. But this is one of my favorite pubs down south because it has so much character. So we also have a bit of a starter here with some whitebait. She said it's fries with eyes is what they have on their menu. But it's these tiny little fish. Dip it in the sauce. Those are really nice actually. Okay, so in front of me, I have the royal roast. This comes in at £30 because it includes all the different meats. I will say their roasties look fantastic. Giant Yorkshire pudding. So this is gonna be the condensed version of the review. If you wanna see the entire thing that includes history of the pub, little hauntings of the pub, it'll be over on this channel tonight at six PM. Look at the roast potato. Hmm. Oh man. This is my favorite day of the week. This roast came with three different meats. We're gonna get a bite of the pork. We have some of their cabbage and the Yorkshire pudding. I wish I would have ordered another tub of gravy. We've got a parsnip here. Oh yeah. Okay. Vegetables are perfect soft enough, but firm enough. There's that nice balance. Overall this roast is banging. There's also a free car park outside, which I do think needs to be included cause if you are driving, you have a place to park your car, which is nice. This is banging. This piece of crackling. Oh. This is one of my favorite pubs for a reason. The food's great and the atmosphere is untouchable.
