Its rigid frame keeps the tool positioned as the thick wall is progressively cut away. Once secured, the operator feeds the spinning circular blade into the pipe wall. The cutting head then moves around the circumference, following the same cutting plane until it completes a full circle and separates the pipe. Orbital cutting is especially useful for large diameter pipe that can be difficult to maneuver through conventional cutting equipment.
