I heard the girls wanted a long-lasting wash & go routine… I GOT YOU! 😉 These are the most perfect curls all year… show me your ways This is rough, but this is how we're starting out. Let's just say we had a slick back and wasn't nothing going to take. Going in with a bit of water as well as a sacred white tooth comb to detangle my hair. If I'm starting on an old wash and go, I typically don't have to do this. I can just finger detangle. If you feel like your hair is tangled and dry, or you find that detangling is just really hard, adding a conditioner in that water can help soften your hair as well. I am a sink hair washer, but anything that allows you to get at your scalp is the best option. Start by drenching your hair. I have low normal to low porosity, so it takes a second for the water to really get into my cuticles. Any type of clarifying or deep cleansing shampoo is going to help get rid of all of that dead product, especially when you have a slick back. I definitely recommend combining it with a hydrating shampoo, especially if your hair is drier, or you find that the clarifying shampoo is just stripping your hair. Fun fact, I was a shampoo assistant at a salon when I was younger, so I'm all about getting that scalp clean with a good massage. Following it up with the Camille Rose Moroccan Pear Conditioning Custard. I'm going in with this conditioner because I deep condition every single wash day. I typically let my conditioner sit for about 5 to 10 minutes before rinsing it out. I like to rinse from the bottom up. Another way to reduce frizz is to dry your hair with a t-shirt. It's me and my ice cube t-shirt against the world every single wash day. And of course, make sure you clean your sink after. Now it's time for deep conditioning. I'm going to take my hair out of the t-shirt and this is what the curls are looking like. They're much better, but they can use a lot more moisture and this is where I am a huge advocate for deep conditioning on every single wash day. Because I already have one on my page, and although it's quite old, the only difference is I now use the Imania Beauty redo detangling brush because I feel like it's not as much snagging on my curls as my previous one. I know this is where my curls can use a bit of moisture, so I'm going in with the Hollywood Beauty Olive Oil Deep Conditioner Cholesterol Treatment. This is one of my number one recommended deep conditioners. It's super affordable and I've been using it for years. I'm covering this with two processing cap, so one is to just stop the drip and the other is to add some extra heat. I leave this in for about two hours before rinsing it out with the coldest water I could possibly handle. Now today for this wash and go, I'm testing out the Doux Mousse Def Texture Foam just by itself. One of my secrets is I pour my texture foam into a spray bottle so it dispenses with less air mixing into the product. I find I get a more concentrated application and better saturation throughout my hair. This is how my curls are looking post deep conditioning. As you can see, it's no frizz thanks to the t-shirt and super juicy curls thanks to the deep conditioner. At this point, I basically have a permanent middle part from how much I wear my hair in the middle part, but I'm still going to go in and define that just to make sure it's perfect before sectioning my hair off. I like to go down the middle part as well, and this just makes managing the process you're about to see a lot easier. The next part can be broken into three steps. You're going to start by saturating your hair with water and then using that same Imania Beauty detangling brush to detangle and then apply your product, whether it's a gel, cream, or mousse. I like to spray it into my hands, rub it into a lather, and then apply it to my hair. I like to use the praying hands method here as well. And I think the shingling method, child, they got too many. Basically, I like to go in and kind of take the natural clumps and wrap my hair around my finger and then wrap it into the product onto my hair. I highly recommend working in small sections because it makes this entire process easier and you might want to find a good show, movie, or YouTube channel to binge, like I don't know, maybe mine, to help pass the time because you are going to repeat this process all over your entire head. That was super dramatic because the process actually doesn't take long at all, like less than an hour for me, but I like to go in with whatever product I used and smooth it across the top of my head and then smooth it across the top of my head and it definitely helps with that flat look that I like and it gives it the perfect amount of volume. As well as the week goes on. Now another secret to the perfect week-long wash and go is letting your hair dry completely because however your hair dries is how it's going to stay throughout the week. Which is exactly why I like to sit under a hooded dryer because I can get that perfect, completely dry look with no frizz or no curl disruption. Is it annoying to sit under the dryer? Yes. More than that, do I like not having to touch my hair for the next week or two? Absolutely. And this is what my hair looks like now. This is my first time trying out this product alone and I must say, so far the wash and go is holding pretty well. Let me know if you want to see how this product holds up over seven days. And if you got to the end of this video and you realize this is too much for you to do, then I guess you just don't want a seven-day wash and go and that's okay too.
