here are some of the things that I did this weekend instead of mindlessly scrolling on my phone. You've been Bricked for 1d 11h 43m. No socials. Blocking 6 apps. View modes. Tap to UnBrick. I spent basically an entire weekend offline and yes I am making it my entire personality right now because it really did make that much of a difference. First I read an entire book end to end the whole thing. And beyond just reading it, I also annotated it and I took notes and I actually learned something instead of just reading the words. The biggest takeaway I learned from reading a whole book in one weekend is that there's so much time in the day when you're not on TikTok. Next is I walked 10 miles, five on Saturday, five on Sunday. On the first walk, I spent basically the entire time talking to my sister on the phone and on the second walk, I was with a friend so we spent the whole time catching up. Something that I've learned so much with walking is that sometimes it's kind of nice to not listen to anything on your walks. It's also great to use it as a time to call your friends and family. Next, I made two bowls, an espresso cup and a vase at the Ceramic Studio. Again, you can accomplish so much when you're not on your phone. Next, I went to the farmers market and I actually enjoyed it because I didn't feel like I was in a rush. That's the other thing I noticed. When you're wasting your time on your phone, it's like activating an energy inside you that kind of makes you want to rush through everything that you're doing, which in turn makes the experience of doing things a lot less fun. And lastly, I watched two movies. I haven't watched a movie at home end to end without touching my phone in. Tell me if you relate to this and DON'T LIE TO ME. I can't even tell you how long. All this to say, not every aspect of your weekend needs to be analog. But when you put your phone down, you actually obviously become so much more present in what you're doing. Your brain has a second to like divide itself and recalibrate and you enjoy your weekend because you actually have so much more time.
