If you only had one pair of shoes for every occasion or activity you would struggle! Just like if you're disabled and you only have one piece of mobility equipment. You wouldn't wear high heels to the beach and I wouldn't use my walker in the shower because although you might just about manage they aren't the right tool for the job. So if a disabled person is using a different mobility aid to what you expect it's not because they don't need it or are feeling better it's because they need the right tool for the job. If someone isn't using an aid they are probably feeling worse for going without it, just like you would if you had to walk around barefoot all day. So just like you wear different shoes for different days or activities is perfectly valid for a disabled person to use different mobility aids & equipment depending on the day, the activity or their symptoms.
