I saw this beautiful marble vase, but instead of buying it, I'm just gonna make it myself. I'm calling this series "I could make that" where I'm just gonna make things out of clay instead of spending money on them. First, I'm throwing an enclosed dome, similar to a regular cylinder, but this time I'm just gonna close it up all the way on top for a perfect round shape that's slightly taller. And I'm cutting this sphere into half because instead of throwing a top and a bottom form, I like to throw in one piece and carving the grooves in to make sure everything fits perfectly. And I'm drilling in these holes for where the flower stems are going to sit. I've only taken one Ikebana class. I don't know if it's the same concept. So far, I think it's looking pretty pretty close to the original one. How should I glaze it? Make sure to follow to see how it turns out.
