President Trump was reportedly forced to take drastic measures overseas to avoid an Iranian assassination threat. The danger posed by the Islamic Republic’s threat was serious enough that Trump’s security team reportedly used a decoy Air Force One to conceal the president’s real departure while secretly moving him onto another military aircraft. On July 8, President Trump was publicly seen walking up the stairs of Air Force One and waving to cameras, making it look like one of his standard departures aboard the presidential jet. But, according to The Washington Post, just minutes later, he slipped out the opposite side and was driven across the airport in a catering truck to a smaller military aircraft. The original decoy plane took off with reporters and some White House staff still aboard, keeping Trump’s actual movements hidden. When asked whether he knew about any credible threats against Air Force One from Iran, Trump said he has a threat against him “all the time” and that he’s “number one” on the regime’s hit list.
