Could any TV really be worth $4000? This is the question that keeps coming up in the comments over and over again. And frankly, some people are attacking me for the way that I spend my own money. So let's break it down. The answer is, kind of. The Sony A95K is literally the best TV money can buy. But if I had a friend ask me what they should get, I'd probably recommend something more like the Sony Bravia A8. The Bravia A8 is still an OLED TV, but it's about half the price of the A95K. And while it's one step down, I don't really think the difference in quality is a $2000 difference. In fact, people will argue back and forth over which TV they think is better and there's no clear consensus on which one is the best. So with the Sony Bravia A8, you can get it below for like $1200 or $1300 bucks, refurbished, you're sacrificing a little bit of brightness and a little bit of color vibrance, which I don't think are going to be even noticeable to most people. Then you're getting that huge savings over the top tier TV. So this is more like if you're super particular and you absolutely have to have the best, but I think most people would probably be happier with the savings on the lower tier TV. And then if you really want, you can go out and buy a sound system and maybe we can explain sound system differences next.
