Let's open up a premium bond account. I've been putting this off for a while, but I think I'm ready to apply. Basically, premium bonds are a pretty cool thing in the UK where you can put between £25 and £50,000 pound in your account and you'd essentially be put into a monthly draw. You can win £25 to £1 million pounds. Yes, people who deposit like £100 have a very small chance of winning a million pounds. The annual fund rate works out to about 3.80%, which is very variable. And the odds of winning are basically 22,000 to 1 for every £1 pound bond in the monthly prize draw. The great thing is you don't pay any of your tax on your capital gains. So if you've maxed out your ISA completely, it's a great shout. Now the minimum you can put into your NS&I premium bond account is £25 and the maximum is £50,000. And anyone over 16 who has a bank account can buy the bonds. You're looking for regular income or savings with guaranteed returns, it's probably worth checking out because I've maxed out all the other things I've wanted to max out and I just want to see if I can become a millionaire.
