Did you know that in the UK we literally have the cheat code to getting rich? I'm a teacher on a £36,000 pound salary and I'm on track to retire a millionaire by the age of 53.2. But I wouldn't be able to do this without having my stocks and shares Isa. Unfortunately only 6% of us have one, which is why this series is so important for us to learn how to best manage our money. So what is a stocks and shares Isa? Why should I invest with it? And why is it the best account to invest with? A stocks and shares Isa is a tax-free investment account. So your money can grow in the stock market and as those investments grow or you receive dividends, you will not pay UK tax on those gains. So for example, if I invest £10,000 over time and it grows to £20,000, I don't pay any capital gains tax on that extra £10,000. Or because I invested through my stocks and shares Isa. You can invest up to £20,000 tax-free each tax year into your account. This can be spread across all types of Isa. You do not need to be rich to open an account. I literally started putting in £10 a month, but it works because time compounds more than you. So if you want to build wealth in the UK, a stocks and shares Isa is probably the best place to start.
