Day 13 of 31. 💜 A letter to my daughter. My baby girl, You came into my life during one of the scariest times of mine. You’ve never really known Mommy without ALS. You know my wheelchair. You know I need help with certain things. To you, I’m simply Mama. Sometimes my heart hurts thinking about the things I wish my body could do with you. Picking you up whenever you reach for me. Chasing you around. Putting your hair in a ponytail. Getting on the floor and playing with you. But please never confuse what my body couldn’t do with how badly I wanted to do it. I hope you remember the bedtime books, cuddles, laughs, and all the little moments we shared. You brought so much light into one of the darkest times of my life. And as you grow up, baby girl… Be brave. Be loud. Be kind. Take up space. Chase your dreams and never make yourself smaller for anybody. If there ever comes a day when you miss me, come back to these videos. Listen to my voice. Look at our pictures.
